The way you dress for an interview will say more about who you are than the black and white text of your resume. Always dress appropriate for the position you are interviewing for. For example, do not wear a three piece suit if interviewing for a warehouse worker. Do not wear a polo and khakis if interviewing for a position in upper management. Dress the role you want to play!

Fun Fact: It takes 7 consecutive positive interactions to counteract the effects of a bad first impression. It is very rare to get 7 follow-up interviews, so make the first one count!

  • Make sure nail polish is not chipped
  • Skirts/Dresses should be close to knee-length
  • Heels should be less than 4 in. tall

  • Blazer/Sports Jacket
  • Suit when appropriate 
  • Bathe before interview
  • Deoderant
  • Blue jeans
  • Shorts
  • Flip-flops
  • Ripped/torn clothing
  • Neon colored items
  • Any clothing item that is related to alcohol/drugs (Yes even your socks/underwear)
  • Perfume/Cologne/Aftershave (Be mindful of sensitive noses/allergies)
