Job Description:

Our client in Titusville, FL is looking for a Contract Lab Supervisor to provide support for their NELAC accredited environmental laboratory.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate the scheduling of water/wastewater analysis
    • Act as Supervisor, Technical Manager, and Quality Manager
    • Organize, assign, and directly supervise lab personnel
    • Provide and coordinate training for personnel
    • Approve time sheets for personnel
    • Hold and attend staff meetings as needed
    • Coordinate the preparation, QC reviews, and execution of lab analysis reports
    • Implement policies dealing with operational and quality control/assurance matters
    • Oversee proficiency testing and reporting
    • Maintain Florida DOH lab accreditation including certification for new analyses
    • Recommend budget expenditures, requisition of equipment, supplies, and chemicals as needed
    • Approve invoices for all purchases
    • Prepare monthly activity report and recommend budget and management objectives
    • Prepare reports and invoicing for external clients

Skills:

    • Knowledge of water and wastewater chemistry, analyses, techniques, and procedures in accordance with DEP, DOH, and NELAC
    • Knowledge of all laboratory equipment and ability to operate
    • Ability to interpret data from numerous analyses and prepare reports
    • Ability to work at a user level with Promium LIMS, MS Office products, and City administrative applications

Qualifications:

    • BS degree in chemical, environmental, biological sciences, physical sciences, or engineering with at least 24 college credit hours in chemistry and 4 credit hours in general microbiology
    • Must have at least 2 years of experience with chemical and microbiological analysis of drinking or wastewater
    • Must have 3 years of supervisory experience
    • Must have valid Florida driver's license
